From Volcanic Ashes to Powering the Future
Every great journey begins with a challenge—and sometimes, the greatest opportunities are found in the most difficult circumstances.
Our story began shortly after the June 12, 1991 eruption of Mt. Pinatubo. In the aftermath, communities were covered with volcanic ash and lahar. Amid the devastation, an opportunity emerged to turn what seemed like waste into something useful.
We ventured into hollow block production, utilizing volcanic ash as one of the key materials. Through experimentation, engineering knowledge, and determination, I developed a formula for incorporating the volcanic ash into the production of hollow blocks.
That humble enterprise became our first lesson in innovation: there is always a way to transform challenges into opportunities.
From hollow blocks, we moved into construction. In 2004, we expanded into Equator Gas Station, Carwash, and Detailing, continuing our journey of entrepreneurship and diversification.
Then came 2011, when I decided to pursue a new and more ambitious direction—renewable energy.
I underwent intensive schooling and technical training as an engineer and solarist in Austin, Texas, followed by seminars and specialized training in Johannesburg, South Africa; Italy; Japan; South Korea; and Germany.
Those experiences gave us the knowledge, technology, and confidence to enter an industry that would eventually become a major part of our journey.
Today, Equator Energy Corporation (EEC) has grown into a company capable of providing comprehensive solar energy solutions for both private and commercial clients.
Our work now extends far beyond conventional rooftop solar installations.
We provide solar solutions for government agencies, including solar-powered irrigation systems that help support agriculture and rural communities. We develop solar water distribution systems, bringing reliable and sustainable water solutions to areas where conventional power infrastructure may be limited.
We also develop solar-powered cold storage facilities, helping protect agricultural products, reduce post-harvest losses, and create opportunities for communities to preserve and market their produce.
And perhaps among our most meaningful endeavors is the solarization of isolated islands and off-grid communities—bringing clean, reliable electricity to places where access to conventional power has long been a challenge.
From a simple hollow block made with volcanic ash to sophisticated renewable energy systems, the journey has come full circle.
We once turned ashes into building materials. Today, we turn sunlight into energy.
Our purpose remains the same: to see possibilities, to innovate, and to build solutions that make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
This is no longer simply a business journey.
It is a journey toward energy independence, sustainable communities, and a brighter future.
From ashes, we built.
From the sun, we power.
And for the future, we continue to build.
